More about the Program
All participants as part of mentorship requirements, must:
- Be an active member of ACHE at the time of application (student membership is accepted)
- Complete 6 contact hours (virtual or face to face) with the assigned mentee/mentor
- Complete a post-program closing survey to share experience and feedback
- Notify the Mentorship Committee immediately of any issue or concerns (no contact, unable to complete program, etc.)
Mentees are expected to:
Be a final year graduate student, early careerist, or mid-careerist
- Initiate contact and ensure appropriate communication with the mentor
- Select meeting times and locations convenient to mentor, as they are donating their time
- Keep a log of activity hours and goals throughout the program
- Conduct themselves in a professional manner, including dressing appropriately and being timely
- Be motivated and empowered to plan and direct their own professional life
Mentors are expected to:
- Be a mid-careerist, late-careerist, or retired
- Be available to the mentee in-person and/or by phone or email
- Facilitate learning and growth by creating and maintaining a supportive environment
- Discuss career/professional development opportunities, skills, and healthcare topics
- Act as a resource to the mentee
