Speakers’ Bios:

Steven Brockman-Weber currently serves as the Chief Nursing Officer of Ascension Texas. He is a senior nurse executive with over thirty years of experience. Built on a strong clinical background, Dr. Brockman-Weber is known for his focus on quality and service outcomes. He has experience in community, academic, and children’s health. He is a dynamic leader with vision, organizational acumen, and a record of accomplishments built on the ability to create relationships, produce results, and create growth. Dr. Brockman-Weber has excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to develop and execute on strategic initiatives that create environments and culture conducive to the provision of high quality patient care. Dr. Brockman-Weber holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Systems Leadership, in addition he has master’s degrees in nursing and health services administration, along with undergraduate degrees in nursing and business administration. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, and is board certified in nursing administration through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Organization of Nursing Leaders. Dr. Brockman-Weber holds a faculty appointment at Rush University College of Nursing where he teaches in the DNP program. In addition, he is on the board of the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Nurses Alumni Association, the American Hospital Association, Maternal Child Council, and the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice.

Bob Bush is the Chief Executive Officer of The Austin Diagnostic Clinic, a 140 provider multi-specialty group based in Greater Austin Market. Bob is in his third decade in the healthcare industry working for LifePoint Hospitals, Methodist Health System in Dallas and Ardent Health Services before joining ADC.

Bob serves in a number of various volunteer venues including the Chamber of Commerce, Medical Group Management and ACHE.

Bob has earned his Fellowship in the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

Chris Egizio serves as Vice President of Operations at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights in Harker Heights, TX.

Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1997. In 1999, he received a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. He assumed his first healthcare leadership position in 2001 at Palos Hospital in Palos Heights, IL. In 2014, Chris was promoted to the Director of Rehabilitation role at Palos Hospital. Chris began working as the Director of Therapy Services at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights in October of 2017.

Currently, Chris serves in leadership positions in several professional and community associations including as Secretary of the Capital Area District of the Texas Physical Therapy Association. He also represents Seton Medical Center Harker Heights on the Board of Directors for the Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce and will serve as Chair in 2023.

 

Edwin F. Estevez, PhD. Like a physician who cures ailing patients, Edwin Estevez specializes in healing the woes that leave organizations struggling to function at an optimum level. For more than 27 years, Edwin has delivered transformational growth to individuals, groups, and organizations by providing remedies to complex problems. His productive executive leadership experiences provide needed growth engines. Edwin employs big-picture analysis to enhance projects. He knows arriving at solutions requires excellent strategies and smart implementation. He understands how to change an organization’s culture and help its people grow.

The Dominican Republic native holds an undergraduate degree in social work and psychology from Greenville University and graduate degrees in social work, education and administration, including a master’s degree in from Washington University-St. Louis and a doctorate from St. Louis University. Edwin currently serves as Market President-Texas in Value Based Care for Prominence Health. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, he assists with the design and implementation of value-based activities specific to accountable care and Medicare Advantage models. Edwin also served as Chief Executive Officer of RGVACO Health Providers, LLC, a multi contract Accountable Care Organization serving over 40,000 lives, 100+ providers, and over 500 affiliated employees in Texas.

Dr. Estevez is also founder and principal of Estrategia Group, a human and resource capital development company, focused on the creation and incubation of ideas, solutions, and strategic planning. Estrategia Group contributed to its clients’ growth of more than 140 million dollars over the last 10 years. Estrategia achieved this success through evaluating programs, design of systems efficiencies, logistical analysis, strategic planning, and training. Some of Estrategia’s clients include: The Association of American Colleges and Universities, University of South Florida, Invest in Kids, Tampa Bay Rays, Premier Health Care, to name a few.

Edwin is passionate professional, dedicated to service and committed to those who sit on the margins of our society. He is relentless about his dedication to re-designing how health care is delivered.

Michael Gonzales started HNI Healthcare in 2009 with a focus on decreasing the overall cost of healthcare in our country. Michael is the innovator and leader of the company’s effort to deliver a model for patient care that seamlessly blends the interests of patients, physicians, hospital systems and health plans. An entrepreneur since 23, he has successfully launched service and product offerings in physician services, healthcare technology and hospital development. Michael studied computer science and holds a bachelor’s in philosophy from Brigham Young University.

Lance Lunsford is an experienced health care executive with notable roles in hospital communications and marketing as well as a long history in health care advocacy and public policy.

His work includes building teams, dismantling silos, and integrating organizations around purpose and passion to drive employee satisfaction and output.

Lance Lunsford began his career in journalism where he became a published author. Today, he does work in media relations on healthcare’s most difficult issues as well as marketing strategies around public affairs and campaign engagement needs as well as service line volume enhancement. His company, Groundswell Health is based in Austin, and designed a custom communication system to assist over-committed health care communication teams.

Lunsford serves a variety of organizations including one of the largest state hospital associations in the country. His company’s work also includes large hospital systems and rural hospitals, providing services on advocacy initiatives as well as patient volume strategies. Groundswell Health also specializes in marketing for health care B2B enterprises, helping shrink the sales cycle and appeal to hospital buying groups.

Jessica Morrow is an accomplished Business Development director with Dignity Health Global Education (DHGE), an online education and technology provider, dedicated to transforming the healthcare workforce through impactful learning, partnered with premier academic institutions and industry experts. With over 20 years of healthcare experience, the foundation of her success is rooted in healthcare sales and business development, with a specialization in operations, as well as vast experience in workforce development and strategy. Strong leadership skills and a focus on strategic partnerships are evident in her work in the DME and utilization review fields, and most recently with her work in healthcare higher education. She excels at leading divisions to success by implementing efficient and effective strategies. A lifelong resident of Texas, she covers the entire state working with various healthcare systems, focusing on nurse retention and professional development. Jessica holds a BA in English from Texas State University.

Dr. Emran Rouf is a senior medical director for Molina Healthcare of Texas. Prior to joining Molina, he served as the Chief Medical Officer for Cigna’s Medicaid operations in TX. He completed his medical degree from Dhaka Medical College, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He finished his training in internal medicine at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. His post-graduate training includes a fellowship in health services research from NYU (2003), and a Physician Executive MBA (2015) from University of Tennessee Knoxville. As a practicing general internist, he specializes in managing chronic conditions in adults, such as hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.

As a physician executive, he has demonstrated success in leading large projects in Utilization management, quality improvement and population health efforts at the health plan level. He has more than 10 years of experience in clinical quality improvement, utilization management, analytics-driven disease management, care variation reduction efforts using claims and clinical data, and in collaborative care delivery using health plan data. Furthermore, he has expertise in leveraging information technology to advance innovative care delivery models in primary care and to address social determinants of health. He is very passionate about leading quality improvement efforts on hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases. He has worked with Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), American Heart Association, and CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services) to advance quality and cost of care on cardiovascular diseases.

Dr. Rouf lives in Round Rock with his wife and two boys (Razeen and Rafan). He is a soccer coach and has been attending World Cup Soccer since 2014. He is involved with many cultural activities for the local South Asian Community.

Danielle Sistrunk has over 15 years of experience in healthcare leading value-based care strategy. Before joining St. David’s HealthCare in October 2021, Danielle was with OPTUM (UnitedHealth Group) where she led strategic initiatives to reduce the total cost of care and enhance post-acute care delivery. Prior to joining Optum, Danielle was with Virginia Care Partners where she led network operations including quality, cost and primary care innovation initiatives. Additionally, Danielle helped lead the development and operations of Virginia Care Partners ACO. Prior to joining VCP, Danielle held various roles advising on value-based care program design, transformation, quality and cost of care initiatives and primary care practice redesign. Danielle earned an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Master of Science degree in Healthcare Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of New Orleans.

Rich Steinle joined Carium in June 2022 as Chief Executive Officer where he is responsible for stewarding the company’s people, story and growth.

Rich’s passions are developing high-performing teams, improving healthcare access and championing technology-enabled personalized patient care. His 30-year career spans enterprise, entrepreneurial health and human service ventures within managed care, software and technology, physician network development and consulting services.

Rich previously served as President and CEO of Innovista Health Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Health Care Service Corporation, and a provider of delegated managed services for physician organizations navigating transitions in delivery, payment and efficiency models. Rich joined Innovista as a founding member and served in various operational leadership roles. Under his seven year tenure as CEO, the team built the business to encompass over 5000 providers with a $1B+ medical spend while returning $200M+ savings to payer and provider partners.

Prior to his role at Innovista, Rich served as CEO and/or co-founder of multiple organizations focused on healthcare transformation, including: primary care delivery, integrated physician networks, electronic health records and collaborative medical real estate solutions.

Rich began his career in Accenture’s Public Sector Human Services portfolio, frequently serving as point for new client development and turnaround/rescue leadership roles in enterprise solutions in Child Protective Services and Benefit Eligibility and Workforce Development for vulnerable populations. Rich went on to lead several entrepreneurial ventures through seed-stage development and rapid growth acceleration, as well as corporate restructuring and turn-around.

Rich holds degrees in Economics and Management from James Madison University.
